Volunteering
Our aim is to provide an entertaining and informative service for our service users. The careful blend of music based shows, specialist programmes and the music request programmes and competitions helps to form bonds in a therapeutic way between residents, relatives and staff of the Hospital.
Volunteers new to presenting undergo a period whereby they attend training sessions in order to become confident and proficient in operating the equipment. When a level of confidence and competence has been achieved, the volunteers are then invited to join the presentation staff, and join the live broadcasting schedule. Anyone volunteering to present with previous experience is requested to submit a show reel to the station manager for review .

Quality Control
We believe that Quality Control is an important part in the running of our Radio Service. This begins at the point of entry for new volunteers, and commences with an induction afternoon where new staff can become acquainted with the service. Underpinning such a quality service there is a need for good communication to exist throughout the organisation and among those involved. Any system of Quality Control should have accountability, responsibility, and measurability included in it. The Station Manager has overall responsibility for quality control and compliance. All of our output is recorded and kept for 90 days so we can always listen back to a show if a complaint is recieved. We have a training system in place to ensure that our presenters have the knowledge and expertise to broadcast to an acceptable standard. Feedback from our listeners is always welcome and we have a formal complaints procedure outlined on our website.
